What is Whatever After about?

Two kids who fall into fairy tales…and mess them up! In the latest book, GOOD AS GOLD, Abby and her brother Jonah fall into the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. There are fourteen books in the series so far, and two special editions. And SPILL THE BEANS (Abby and Jonah visit Jack and the Beanstalk) just came out in paperback!

What’s your favorite fairy tale?

Cinderella! I have always wanted to go to a ball. And every good story needs a ticking clock.

What kind of advice would you give to aspiring writers?

Read all kinds of books—funny ones, sad ones, scary ones, adventurous ones. Then write the kind of book you love the most.

If you could have one kind of magic power, what would it be?

Invisibility! I’d be a flicker from my series Upside-Down Magic! In Upside-Down Magic, flickers have invisibility magic, flares have fire magic, flyers can fly, fluxers can turn into different animals, and fuzzies can communicate with animals.

Was Upside-Down Magic a movie?

Yes! It was! You can now watch Upside-Down Magic on Disney+!
